Wilswood Buoys are an acoustic duo from Mersea Island, Essex, known for their raw and accessible blend of traditional folk and modern alternative pop. Formed in 2017, Josh and Joe began as friends jamming together, quickly evolving into a dynamic songwriting partnership. Their debut album, A New Beginning (2023), produced by Frank Turner, showcases their signature sound—catchy riffs, bold choruses, and heartfelt lyrics. The album features the standout track “A Place to Call My Own,” a collaboration with Turner that exemplifies their energetic and melodic style.
The duo has made significant strides on the UK live circuit, supporting Frank Turner and The Levellers on their acoustic tours and performing at festivals like Boomtown Fair and Northern Kin. Their performances are marked by natural chemistry and an infectious stage presence, earning them a reputation as a rising force in the folk and acoustic scenes. With a growing fanbase and a sound that resonates across generations, Wilswood Buoys continue to captivate audiences with their unique musical blend.
