The Bunkhouse is an independent, multi-award-winning music venue and creative hub in the heart of Swansea city centre. Since opening in 2017, it has become a cornerstone of the South Wales live music scene, hosting over 240 shows a year and championing local talent at every level.

In 2024, the venue became the first in Wales to secure permanent protected cultural status through the Music Venue Trust’s #OwnOurVenues initiative, ensuring its future as an independent grassroots space for live music and creativity.

Getting to The Bunkhouse

The Bunkhouse is in central Swansea, spanning two city-centre streets: The Kingsway and Park Street. The main entrance is on Park Street, though some events may use The Kingsway entrance — this will be clearly noted ahead of the show.

Walking time

Approximately 10 minutes from Swansea station.

By car

Leave the M4 at Junction 42, follow the A483 and signs for Swansea city centre. The venue sits on The Kingsway with entry via Park Street. Disabled parking is available on Park Street, and Craddock Street car park is around 30 seconds away.

By bus

Bus stops run along The Kingsway. Alternatively, get off at Swansea Bus Station (The Quadrant), exit via the Wilkinsons exit, turn right, then left onto Union Street, continuing to Park Street.

By train

Exit Swansea station, turn left along High Street, then left at Argos onto College Street. Continue onto The Kingsway to reach the venue.

This flexible layout allows a wide range of gigs at The Bunkhouse to take place throughout the year.
