Venue Guide: The Bunkhouse, Swansea

The Bunkhouse is located in Swansea city centre, spanning The Kingsway and Park Street. The main entrance is on Park Street, though some events may use The Kingsway entrance — this will always be clearly confirmed in advance.

The Bunkhouse is an independent grassroots music venue and creative hub, known for hosting live gigs, club nights and special events. It champions emerging artists, local talent and touring acts across a wide range of genres.

The venue is an intimate space designed for close-up live music experiences. Its size makes it ideal for discovering new artists, enjoying high-energy shows and experiencing live performances up close. There are two stages. The Kingsway Main Stage is the larger performance space, hosting everything from high-energy touring bands and club nights to packed-out local shows. The Park Street Bar Stage is a more intimate setting for acoustic performances, spoken word, comedy, jazz nights, and afterparties. A space that brings artists and audiences closer together.

The Bunkhouse hosts a diverse mix of live music, including indie, rock, punk, metal, electronic, hip-hop and alternative genres. The programme regularly features local acts, touring artists and special one-off shows.

The Bunkhouse is committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming space. The two rooms are separated by 7 steps, and both rooms have step-free access from street level. For step-free access to the main room, simply inform a member of staff that you would like to go to the main room. The main room also has access to a disabled toilet.
