Tyketto "Strength In Numbers 25th Anniversary", Rescue Rooms, Nottingham - 9th March 2019

Sold out show - says it all really. Kane'd (the support band were very good) and Tyketto were, well, Tyketto, one of the best rock bands about, that don't overcharge for tickets, give 100% every show, and actually care about the folks that come to see them play. Would I go again - too darn right I would. Rescue Rooms is a great venue on the club circuit, with an excellent well stocked bar at reasonable prices and I believe they do food as well (although I haven't sampled that so can't express an opinion).

The band formed in the late Eighties and were signed to major label Geffen Records by 1990 with whom they released their 1991 debut album Don’t Come Easy. The hard rock album enjoyed some success with the single Forever Young getting widespread attention. However, the record was released at a time when grunge was beginning to emerge meaning the album’s sound didn’t quite fit and result in the sales it deserved. Their second album; Strength In Numbers was released in 1994 followed by third album Shine in 1995. The band would split in 1996.

In 2008 they reformed. With a change in the musical landscape towards a harder sound, many had retrospectively discovered the work of Tyketto which was enjoying somewhat of a renassince. The band began touring and in 2012 released the new album Dig In Deep.

Last year they celebrated twenty-five years of rock and roll craziness with one of the biggest tours of their entire careers. Each huge headline date saw the band tear it up and show off everything they had learnt over a quarter of a century and once again set the world on fire.
