TC & The Groove Family are a Leeds-based collective known for their expansive blend of afrobeat, breakbeat, jazz, funk and global dance rhythms. Led by drummer and musical director Tim Cook (TC), the group bring together a large ensemble of musicians whose collaborative energy creates a sound rooted in groove, community and joyful, high-spirited performance. Their music draws from influences across the African diaspora, Latin rhythms and UK club culture, resulting in dynamic arrangements that feel both celebratory and socially conscious.
Their debut album First Home (2022), produced by Tom Excell of Nubiyan Twist, showcased the band’s rich, percussive sound and featured powerful vocal performances from regular collaborator Pariss Elektra. Known for electrifying festival appearances at events such as Glastonbury, We Out Here and Shambala, TC & The Groove Family have earned a reputation for turning stages into dancefloors, with their infectious live energy anchoring them as one of the UK’s most exciting large-ensemble acts. Always evolving, they continue to champion collaboration and musical inclusivity across genres and cultures.
