If you'd like to be the first to know when new events are announced, you can follow Swirlies below.
Formed in 1990 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Swirlies are a first-wave American shoegaze band whose sound fuses noise pop, lo-fi experimentation and sludge-drenched guitar textures with dreamy, shoegaze-leaning atmospherics. Known for their boy/girl vocal interplay and unpredictable arrangements, they quickly became a staple of the early US shoegaze and noise-pop scene alongside the likes of Lilys, Velocity Girl and Drop Nineteens. Their acclaimed early work includes the What to Do About Them EP (1992), debut LP Blondertongue Audiobaton (1992) – which features college radio favourite "Pancake" – and the experimental classic They Spent Their Wild Youthful Days in the Glittering World of the Salons (1995). Their discography also includes the remix LP Strictly East Coast Sneaky Flute Music (1998), Cats of the Wild, Volume 2 (2003/2024), and Swirlies' Magic Strop: Tonight... (2018).
Swirlies have toured extensively across North America and Europe, including runs in the UK and the Netherlands, as well as a 1994 Peel Session. They've performed both headline shows and shared stages with artists such as Kurt Vile and Nothing. Members have collaborated with bands including Mew, Lilys and Lydia Lunch, while reissues of their classic albums continue to find new ears and acclaim.
Ticket prices may vary depending on venue and location. Full pricing details are available on each individual event page.
