Soul II Soul was first started by Trevor Beresford Romeo, AKA Jazzie B, initially under the name Jah Rico running sound systems in London clubs playing dub and reggae in clubs and parties around North London.
He experimented with the sound in the late seventies and with the addition of more members the music developed more into soul and funk. Culminating in the release of a dub plate in 1988 titled Fairplay
under the name we all recognise today.
