Sophie Lloyd is a London-born guitarist, composer, and YouTube sensation who has redefined the role of the modern shredder. Starting her musical journey at age nine after watching a guitar solo in The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie, she quickly immersed herself in the worlds of metal, hard rock, and blues. A graduate of the BIMM Institute London with first-class honours in Popular Music Performance, Sophie began sharing her guitar covers and original compositions on YouTube in 2011. Her channel has since amassed over 1.16 million subscribers, earning her both a Silver and Gold YouTube Play Button.
In 2022, Sophie joined Machine Gun Kelly’s touring band, performing in arenas and stadiums worldwide. Her debut solo album, Imposter Syndrome (2023), features collaborations with artists like Lzzy Hale and Nathan James. The album debuted at #3 on the UK Rock Chart and was nominated for Best Breakthrough Album at the 2024 Heavy Music Awards. Sophie’s guitar solo in “Do Or Die” was also voted the second-best guitar solo of 2022 by Guitar World readers.
