Puma Blue is the creative alias of London-born singer-songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist Jacob Allen, whose atmospheric music blends soulful vocals, lo-fi textures and jazz-inflected sensibilities. Emerging from bedroom production, Allen cultivated a dedicated following with early EPs such as Swum Baby (2017) and Blood Loss (2018), which introduced his introspective style and reluctance to conform. The music has been described as “voicemail ballads” thanks to its personal, nocturnal quality.
In 2021, Puma Blue released his debut full-length album In Praise of Shadows, a 14-track record that confronted themes of insomnia, self-refection and the interplay of darkness and light — and which secured widespread critical acclaim for its emotional honesty and sonic ambition. His more recent work continues to blend soul, jazz, alternative R&B and experimental production, positioning him as one of the most distinctive voices in modern introspective pop.
