Paul Carrack, Harrogate International Centre, Harrogate - 23rd March 2019

My wife and myself are both music fans and have seen Paul on a number of occasions. This performance was as polished and professional as usual combining new and older well loved material. The venue in Harrogate added to a wonderful evenings entertainment.

Paul Carrack, Lyric Theatre at The Lowry, Manchester - 24th March 2019

Paul Carrack was fantastic last night at the Lowry. The whole show was wonderful but when he sang “how long as this been going on” it was truly spectacular with everyone on their feet singing and dancing, the atmosphere was electric. I took my son as part of his Christmas present and we both had an awesome evening. Can’t wait to see Paul in concert again, will definitely be getting tickets. He was wonderful.

Paul Carrack, Harrogate International Centre, Harrogate - 23rd March 2019

Must have seen Paul and his amazing band a dozen times in the last few years. Apart from his faultless voice , the whole crew put on a wonderful concert. If you have never seen this man live , you simply must put him on your list.
Effortless playing and singing covering hits from his time with squeeze and Mike and the mechanics. Soulful and quite simply the best live performer around. Sounded better than the best CD!

Paul Melvyn Carrack first started his career with the jazz rock band Warm Dust but he rose to the public’s attention with his band Ace. The pub rock band established just as the genre was on the rise in 1972 and so were poised perfectly to hit a wide audience. Their hit 1975 single How Long? saw them find fame in both the UK and USA. They disbanded in 1977 and Carrack then worked with Roxy Music on the keyboard.

In 1981 Carrack joined the band Squeeze following the departure of Jools Holland. Working on keys and providing vocals, he was featured prominently on the album East Side Story and he enjoyed State side success with the song Tempted.

Carrack joined Mike + The Mechanics in 1985 and co-wrote the single Over My Shoulder and was the lead singer on their hit single Silent Running. He enjoyed success with the band when they hit #2 in the UK and #1 in America with the song The Living Years.

He also joined Roger Water’s backing band named The Bleeding Heart Band in 1986 and recorded the soundtrack for film When The Wind Blows. Whilst on tour with Waters he would often play as the unofficial support act.
Carrack has worked as a session musician for other greats such as The Smiths, The Pretenders, Ringo Star, Eric Clapton, BB King and Elton John.
