His debut album, Waterproof9 (2001), was followed by Just Another Ordinary Day (2003). His third album, Close to Paradise (2006), won the Polaris Music Prize in 2007. Other notable albums include Wooden Arms (2009), Adventures in Your Own Backyard (2012), Love Songs for Robots (2015), Wave (2019), and Better in the Shade (2022).
Watson has performed in the UK, including a notable show at London's Union Chapel in 2009. He has also collaborated with artists such as The Cinematic Orchestra, contributing vocals to tracks like "To Build a Home" from their album Ma Fleur (2007). In December 2024, his song "Je te laisserai des mots" (2010) became the first French-language song to reach one billion streams on Spotify, largely due to its popularity on platforms like TikTok.
