French indie-pop duo celebrated for their melodic sophistication, effortless charm and sun-soaked, genre-blending sound.
If you'd like to be the first to know when new events are announced, you can follow Papooz below.
Papooz are a Parisian indie-pop duo made up of Ulysse Cottin (lead guitar, vocals) and Armand Penicaut (rhythm guitar, vocals). Known for their laid-back charm and breezy melodies, they blend elements of soft rock, bossa nova and art-pop into a sound that feels effortlessly sunlit yet quietly introspective. Formed out of friendship and a shared love for classic songwriting, Papooz craft music that’s playful, melodic and steeped in a distinctly French sense of cool.
Their debut album Green Juice (2016) introduced their warm, easy-going aesthetic, while Night Sketches (2019) ventured into darker, more cinematic territory without losing their melodic core. Their most recent record, None of This Matters Now (2022), captures a looser, more reflective mood — songs like “Ulysses and the Sea”, “Theatrical State of Mind”, “Ann Wants to Dance” and “Don’t You Think It’s Be Nice?” showcase their talent for weaving nostalgia and wit into irresistible pop craftsmanship. Whether playing intimate clubs or festival stages, Papooz continue to charm audiences with their effortless grooves and timeless style.
