We're incredibly excited to welcome PADDY STEER, THE RAVAGED & OKO OKO's DJ SET for a truly one-of-a-kind live performance!
One of Manchester's most distinctive and inventive musicians, Paddy is a multi-instrumentalist, composer and creator of the acclaimed Homelife project. His performances blend homemade electronics, synthesisers, percussion and found sounds into joyful, unpredictable sonic adventures. Equal parts DIY space programme, performance art and psychedelic electronic experiment, no two Paddy Steer shows are ever the same.
OPENING THE EVENT WE ARE JOINED BY THE RAVAGED, playing a killer set of 60's garage psych rave ups! Then, Joining us on the decks are oko oko band's James & John, soundtracking the evening with a special DJ set! Expect an eclectic selection of alternative world psych-rock, obscure soundtracks, heavyweight library music, Krautrock, avant-garde pop and a touch of dub.
As with every gig at Langley Tracks, we'll have wood-fired pizzas cooking throughout the evening and the Waiting Room bar open for the duration.
This is an event for all ages, with free entry for children under 12. It's a relaxed, informal evening that encourages movement, dancing and enjoying the music however you like.

Paddy is a Zelig-like character along the timeline of Manchester’s musicalactivity. It’s a testament to his musicality that he has played with such a widerange of music and artists over the years, be it as a bass player, drummer,Hawaiian guitarist etc. or all these roles at the same time.His own Homelife project released six albums in recent years, Homelife'ssound was intricate but with a warm sense of wonder, a balance of songs andinstrumentals. Many musicians contributed to the Homelife project, brewedslowly by Paddy in his attic before being taken out as a small orchestra forsome very unique concerts.Never one to blow his own trumpet, Paddy quietly gets on with developing hiscraft. There is something of the fairy-tale cobbler working late into the night inorder to make the finest shoes in the kingdom, or maybe the musical elvesstrike up while he's in bed.Recorded , It’s a sometime cartoon-like music dense with events, newtextures and the colours of children’s paintings,sounds like a Swiss cuckooclock made of egg boxes and horsehair, glued together by an African Moogplayer in a Vietnamese iron monger's shop.In rejection of the notion of 'immaculate reproduction', live performances errmore daringly and admirably on the frontier of chaotic abstraction, expressionand focussed blunder, dice rolling down the hill in case of duende, as frombehind his stacked array of instruments, the anarchically intrepid punkgargles through a vocoder with his xylophone, all a-clatter under disco lightsand doilies.
