Origami Angel is an American emo and pop-punk band from Washington, D.C., formed in 2017. The duo consists of vocalist and guitarist Ryland Heagy and drummer Pat Doherty. Known for blending upbeat, catchy pop-punk melodies with the emotional depth of emo and math rock intricacy, Origami Angel has quickly gained a dedicated following in the DIY music scene.
Their debut full-length album, Somewhere City (2019), became a cult hit, praised for its infectious energy, relatable lyrics, and the band's ability to mix high-tempo, fun tracks with heartfelt, introspective moments. The album explores themes of friendship, mental health, and finding a place to belong.
