Nearly Dan is a tribute band formed in 1995 in Stoke-on-Trent, originally known as Baldwin’s Casuals, with a focus on the iconic music of Steely Dan. The band’s deep connection to Steely Dan’s meticulous grooves and lyrical style quickly became evident, and their setlist gradually expanded to feature a broad range of the legendary band's songs. After adopting the name Nearly Dan, the group established a reputation for delivering a faithful yet relaxed performance of Steely Dan's vast catalogue, earning critical acclaim across the UK and Europe.
Nearly Dan’s live shows have become a staple at prestigious venues and festivals, including Glastonbury and the Big Chill, and they have even graced the stage of the renowned Blue Note Jazz Club in Milan. Over the years, the band’s commitment to preserving the spirit of Steely Dan has garnered them a dedicated fanbase, culminating in the celebration of their 25th anniversary in 2022.
