Marika Hackman is a critically acclaimed British singer-songwriter celebrated for her introspective lyrics and genre-defying sound. Emerging with her debut album We Slept at Last (2015), she captivated listeners with haunting melodies and poetic storytelling. Over the years, Marika has evolved her sound, with I’m Not Your Man (2017) introducing a grungier, indie-rock edge and featuring the breakout single "Boyfriend." Her third album, Any Human Friend (2019), embraced vulnerability and boldness, delving into themes of identity, intimacy, and self-discovery, earning widespread praise.

The Cookie is hot, but a great cellar venue with friendly staff and customers. Marika was suffering from the heat, but put in an incredible performance, which went down well with the sold-out crowd. Wonderful - tunes, great performance and connection with the crowd.
