Machine Head are a Californian hard-rock and heavy-metal powerhouse who helped pioneer the new wave of modern metal in the early nineties. Formed in 1991 by vocalist and guitarist Robb Flynn, the band carved out their identity with crushing riffs, aggressive groove and fiercely honest lyricism. Their early albums – including the landmark Burn My Eyes (1994) – set a new standard for intensity, blending thrash roots with a darker, contemporary edge.
