After a strong grounding in the fineries of Southern Rock with a six-year stint playing in the iconic band ‘Drive By Truckers’, Jason Isbell has spent the last few years carving out a name as a solo artist of considerable stature. This pure-blood Alabama boy comes from fine musical stock, and a solid upbringing in Bluegrass, country and Gospel music has laid the foundation for a musician who celebrates his musical roots but still manages to keep it fresh and original. Now regarded as one of the best American folk artists of his generation, Jason Isbell is bringing his unique style of music to the UK next year, and fortunately at Gigantic we have Jason Isbell concert tickets available for his UK shows.

The party starts on January 19th at the Concorde 2 in Brighton, before heading to Bristol’s Trinity on January 20th and the O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire on January 22nd. These are the only UK appearances by Jason Isbell. Tour dates this limited mean that demand for tickets will be high, even though the venues are relatively large, so grab your tickets early.

Jason Isbell is one of the hardest-working musicians in country music. For several years after he went solo he was chalking up over 200 concerts every year. In 2010 he took a well-earned break and returned to his native Alabama. He found that the region had been hit hard by the economic downturn, and it inspired him to write new material that reflected the struggles of the American rural South in the modern era. The result was the 2012 album ‘Here we Rest’, regarded as his seminal album to date and met with critical acclaim. In 2013 he followed it up (interspersed with a live album) with the extraordinary ‘Southeastern’. This album was a smash hit and garnered huge critical praise and a massive increase in his exposure to a wider audience. The latest album, ‘Something More than Free’ shows that Isbell isn’t resting on his laurels, producing a dynamic and diverse recording that showcases Isbell’s exceptional musical and songwriting ability.

Jason Isbell is now easily one of the most highly regarded folk musicians currently working and recording, so a chance to catch his live show in the UK is not to be missed. Jason Isbell tickets are bound to sell out quickly, due to the limited number of dates available, so get yours from Gigantic now.
