Additional information

This programme of learning has been designed to increase knowledge and provide time for attendees to engage and build their confidence in a shared, online learning space.

Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) has exploded within research conversations over the last decade and now funders, research leads, institutions and patient groups expect to see genuine, well thought out Patient and Public Involvement within health and care research.

This programme is designed for Early Career Researchers, future PPI facilitators and those people expected to deliver on the asks of PPI. The learning is designed to help you consider and embed quality PPI within your systems so you can incorporate living experiences, peer researchers and patient and public contributors to improve the relevance, acceptability and accessibility of your research.

Who is the course for?

  • Anyone who feels they need to begin or develop their Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) knowledge and are looking for detailed learning & development in this area of their work.
  • Anyone who wants to consider their PPI work as a researcher or facilitator and wants to embed the ask of PPI into their practical work.
  • The programme takes attendees from initial understanding of PPI today through to exploring real scenarios, important and overlooked facets of PPI such as governance and resources and encourages everyone to think about working in this field with compassion and understanding of what asking for PPI truly means.

If you’re not sure if this course is for you then please get in touch. We would love to hear from you, and we can talk about some of the content, feasibility for your own context and also discuss alternatives for your progress in this area.

Information about the course:

  • Each programme cohort will have a maximum occupancy of 16 participants to allow for learning and networking with others throughout the programme
  • One session within the programme will be dedicated to smaller group learning and exploration of your own work, challenges and ambitions for PPI.
  • The programme is costed at £250 per participant and includes 10 hours live learning, post session self-guided learning and an end of programme handbook.
