Hudson Freeman is a New York City based indie and lo-fi folk artist, shaped by a deeply DIY Midwest spirit. Born to Evangelical missionaries, he began writing songs after a radical shift at the age of thirteen, when his family relocated from the suburbs of Dallas to the Kingdom of Eswatini. That formative experience, alongside inspiration from artists such as Sufjan Stevens and Bon Iver and his college years in Springfield, Missouri, helped carve out his intimate, reflective songwriting style.
Blending bedroom pop, folk, slowcore and post-emo textures, Hudson’s music feels raw yet intentional, built around melodic instinct and emotional honesty. His recent single “If You Know Me” has drawn growing attention, pairing mantra-style lyrics with a singular, moody guitar line that lingers long after the first listen. In Spring 2025, he released is a folk artist, a disarmingly distinct album weaving themes of faith, belonging and anxiety into a modern folk record that feels both deeply personal and quietly monumental.
