Hope of the States was a post-rock band from Chichester, England, known for their atmospheric sound and poignant lyrics. Their debut album, The Lost Riots (2004), featured the singles "Black Dollar Bills" and "Enemies/Friends." They released Left (2006), their second and album before splitting in 2006. Notable performances include sets at the Reading and Leeds Festivals. The band supported acts such as The Cooper Temple Clause and The Polyphonic Spree on tour. Their unique blend of post-rock and indie- rock earned them a dedicated following and critical praise.
