Hayseed Dixie is a unique band known for their high-energy blend of bluegrass, rock and country, with a distinctive twist. Often described as a “rockgrass” band, they are famous for their electrifying bluegrass renditions of classic rock anthems, including their iconic versions of “Highway to Hell” and “Bohemian Rhapsody.” Formed in 2000 in the Appalachian mountains of the US, Hayseed Dixie quickly gained a cult following for their humorous and skilful reinterpretations of rock legends. Their debut album, A Hillbilly Tribute to AC/DC (2001), set the tone for their genre-bending style and cemented their place in the hearts of both rock and bluegrass fans alike.
With their lively performances and infectious sense of fun, Hayseed Dixie has brought their unique sound to stages across the UK, playing at festivals like Glastonbury and Cambridge Folk Festival, as well as venues like The Garage in London. Their ability to seamlessly blend genres while keeping the spirit of rock alive has made them a staple of the alternative music scene, and their live shows remain a must-see for any fan of high-energy, genre-defying music.
