John Wheeler supported himself! A great opener for a really fun gig. Light-hearted with great musicianship, everybody had a smile on their face.

Hayseed Dixie, Fleece, Bristol - 14th February 2018

I bought Hayseed Dixie tickets for my brothers for Xmas and they thoroughly enjoyed the show. They said the standard of performance was excellent - superb musicianship and witty interpretations of classic tunes. As ever, the Fleece provided a super atmosphere. Our family and friends have attended gigs at the Fleece for more than 30 years and we all truly hope it will remain open for future generations to enjoy.

Hayseed Dixie, Cambridge Junction, Cambridge - 17th February 2018

The band were their normal phenomenal selves. John, Jake, Joe and Tim never failing to delight the audience with both their music and stage persona's. John as "Barley Scotch" getting a touch political with his commentary on 'The America (f*** yeah)' and its current state. Hippy Joe, being his adorably "metal" bluegrass self, and the incredible Bakesnake Jake,. with his incredibly deep voice and amazing beard to match, providing not only the Bass, but the base from which the songs seemed to jump. I took 2 Hayseed 'Virgins' with me to this gig, and I am happy to report, that we have two new Rockgrass fans.

With John now being a local boy (he moved to the city a few years ago), seeing Hayseed Dixie at the Junction is always a good time, as he seems to put that little bit more oomph into it as he is so close to his (in his own words) nice comfortable bed... instead of a hotel room on the road.

Shomanshipwise, almost the whole audience was singing along, responding to his pantomime like cues (such as the required "f*** yeah" every time he mentioned "The America") and generally having a good time. There were, as always with live shows, one or two jackasses who were too drunk to realise that a)_ they were being obnoxious, and b) that there was awesome music being played, but this did not detract from the night at all.

I'm looking forward to next time, already.
