Hail the Sun are a progressive post-hardcore band known for their intricate musicianship, dynamic song structures and emotionally charged lyrics. Formed in California in 2009, the band—featuring Donovan Melero on vocals and drums—blends elements of math rock, punk and post-hardcore, creating a sound that is both technical and deeply expressive. Their breakthrough album, Wake (2014), established them as a force in the scene, while later records like Mental Knife (2018) and New Age Filth (2021) refined their sound with razor-sharp precision and introspective themes. Their latest album, Divine Inner Tension (2023), pushes their sonic boundaries even further, exploring themes of self-discovery and existential growth.
A powerhouse on stage, Hail the Sun have made their mark on the music scene, performing at Vans Warped Tour and supporting bands like Dance Gavin Dance, Circa Survive and The Fall of Troy on tour.
