"Excellent performance."

Gruff Rhys , Live Rooms, Wrexham - 7th December 2018

Brilliant performance. Good atmosphere. Only negatives was overuse of spotlights on audience - for photosensitive people that causes headaches. I had to turn away several times as a result.

All the bands are great to be fair! GR was his usual, consistent, melodic best. A long set too, which was a bonus.

Gruff Rhys , Live Rooms, Wrexham - 7th December 2018

Gruff on top form as always. Kliph, Lisa and sweet baboo brilliant as usual. Some of the crowd were a bit too drunk and decided to heckle Gruff at a point in the gig where he has a chat about a relative of his so he cut it short and just played the songs. Hecklers got an earful of the rest of us. Didn’t detract from what was a great gig

Excellent musicians. Good show. Didn't know many tracks but enjoyed what they did very much.
Would have liked a few more SFA tracks.
Would see again

Composer, producer, film maker and musician; Gruff Rhys is known for his huge capacity for creativity and psychedelic attitude.

Having first found fame as the enigmatic front of oddball indie band Super Furry Animals, Rhys has also gone on to become a successful solo artist having won the 2011 Welsh Music Prize for his record Hotel Shampoo. He also works as a member of electro-pop group Neon Neon.

This summer has seen the release of his brand-new album Babelsberg through Rough Trade which he is just about to take out on the road.

It's warm and weird, but suddenly no stranger than the world around it.” - Uncut

Babelsberg is, without doubt, one of the finest expressions so far of Rhys's talent.” - MOJO

Make sure you see him when he performs at Wedgewood Rooms at Portsmouth, O2 Academy Oxford and SWX in Bristol during November 2018.

Rhys first became his forays into music playing as the drummer for band Emily. He then progressed on to Ffa Coffi Pawb (Everyone’s Coffee Beans) who released three albums with Rhys as the singer. When the band split in 1993 he began what would become Super Furry Animals.

By 2005 Rhys released his first solo album, Yr Atal Genhedlaeth, having already achieved a degree of mainstream success with Super Furry Animals. His following record releases would include Candylion, Hotel Shampoo, American Interior and his soundtrack album Set Fire To The Stars.
