Absolutely amazing venue and Guy Garvey had the crowd eating out his hands, such a funny bloke.

Elbow, Delamere Forest, Northwich, Cheshire - 30th June 2017

I loved Elbow (though not the support) having never seen them live before. I'll certainly try to again. The sound balance was excellent.
Our evening was in danger of being spoilt by an inconsiderate group who came in well after us, stood talking loudly and not taking any interest in the concert and getting more affected by the considerable amount of alcohol they were drinking. Some people starting telling them to move so we could see and one of them in particular got upset and offensive saying others were standing - but at least they were listening to the band. They did eventually move - blocking others' views - but still didn't bother with the concert.
As the concert went on more people came in around us and some were smoking continuously - which personally I find objectionable and am not prepared to be tolerant about. Why should I be inconvenienced so others can indulge their addiction?
Finally, the lighting was good but it was all back lighting so the group were largely silhouettes with no spots from the front. Perhaps the lack of forward towers made that difficult but it was slightly strange.
So, all the negatives were nothing to do with the band - consequently my rating is for them.

"One show like this"

Elbow, High Lodge, Thetford Forest, Thetford, Suffolk - 29th June 2017

-really will see me right. It was brilliant, they played spine tinglingly good stuff, "Lippy Kids" makes you want to cry and "Seldom seen Kid" makes you want to roar, but this is really intelligent stuff, and despite the fact that we were in a woodland glade in Thetford forest under a crescent moon, the music resonates with the hope and despair of our national state,

It did feel like we had built a rocket

Award winning alternative band Elbow inhabit the very heart of melancholic rock. Producing a sweet wistfulness feel of nostalgia whilst simultaneously always remaining urgent and modern, Elbow tap into the traditions of the past and ally themselves with progress to become modern anthemic greats.

They have released six studio albums so far, including their highly praised fourth record The Seldom Seen Kid which took home the Mercury Music Prize and saw them later win Best British Group at the 2009 Brit Awards. They have also taken home tow Ivor Novello Awards.

Fans are buzzing with excitement as they have announced the upcoming release of seventh studio album Little Fictions will take place in February.

They have also become the latest act to be announced as a headliner for the fast approaching Forest Live dates. Taking place in spectacular woodland settings, the shows tour some of the most picturesque sites Britain has to offer and plays host to word class musicians. See Elbow perform at Westonbirt Arboretum in Gloucestershire, Bedgebury Pinetum & Forest in Kent, Dalby Forest in Pickering, Sherwood Pines Forest Park at Nottinghamshire and Suffolk’s High Lodge in Thetford Forest throughout June and into July, 2017.

These Elbow tickets will soon be available through Gigantic. Expected to sell fast, we advise you to set a personal reminder to arrive to you via text message or email make you ready for their release at 09:00 on Friday 20th January.

Band members include guitarists Mark Potter and Guy Garvey who takes lead vocals, with Craig Potter on keys and Pete Turner playing bass.
