Welsh rock band Dream State pair electronic textures with heavy riffs and huge emotional choruses, powered by founding guitarist Aled Evans and the soaring, ferocious vocals of Jessie Powell.
Formed in Carmarthen in 2014, Dream State made their mark early, with breakout single "White Lies" catching fire online and debut EP Recovery (2018) racking up millions of streams. That same year they were named Best British Breakthrough at the Kerrang! Awards, and their debut album Primrose Path (2019), produced by Enter Shikari's Dan Weller, cemented their place in the UK rock scene. They've also brought their explosive live show to Reading & Leeds.
Founding guitarist Aled Evans has since led the band into an exciting new chapter, joined by vocalist Jessie Powell, bassist Jake Bowen and drummer Tom Connolly. EPs Untethered (2023) and Still Dreaming (2024), along with the single "Words Unsaid", blend atmospheric electronics with crushing heaviness, while Jessie switches effortlessly between big, melodic hooks and powerful screams. Having toured with the likes of Caskets and As December Falls, Dream State remain a thrilling live prospect for anyone who likes their rock loud, heartfelt and honest.
