On Monday July 20, they will come to the Intelligence Squared stage to mark the tenth anniversary of A Brief History of Everyone Who Ever Lived. Together, they’ll explore how advances in DNA research have transformed our understanding of human history, and discuss what a decade of new discoveries has revealed about our past.

From Neanderthals to the plague, from redheads to race, ,from evolution to epigenetics, they will discuss what our genes can tell us about human history and our ancestors. Together, they will dispel some common myths, challenging misconceptions about race and ancestry, and consider the profound consequences of the Human Genome Project.

Don’t miss a fascinating conversation between one of Britain’s leading historians and one of our foremost popular science writers about ancestry, identity and the remarkable story carried within every one of us.
