Darlingside are an indie-folk band from Boston, Massachusetts, built on the kind of soaring, intricately arranged vocal harmonies that can quieten a whole room. The members met as students at Williams College, and their collaborative, democratic approach to songwriting — pooling ideas and shaping every song together — has become as much a part of their signature as their lush, literary arrangements. That craft has earned praise from NPR, Rolling Stone and The New Yorker, and the band now performs led by Don Mitchell, Auyon Mukharji and Harris Paseltiner.
Across albums including Birds Say (2015), Extralife (2018), Fish Pond Fish (2020) and Everything Is Alive (2023), they've built a reputation for warmth, wit and meticulous musicianship. UK audiences took to them fast: a breakout appearance at Cambridge Folk Festival led to repeat tours, a set at Celtic Connections and a headline show at London's Shepherd's Bush Empire. Gathered close around their arrangements on stage, Darlingside remain one of modern acoustic music's most quietly spellbinding live acts.
