About Cracked Lime

Cracked Lime are London duo Nao and Lucas, who joined forces in early 2025 and have spent their time since sharpening their sound in the capital's grassroots venues. Their music sits somewhere between scrappy post-punk and electronic experimentation, with jagged guitar lines rubbing up against drum machines, synths and a slow-burning trip-hop mood. Add Lucas's hypnotic spoken-word delivery and you get music that suits both a sweaty dancefloor and a brooding walk home in the dark. One early description of their live set, "Portishead with James Bond guitars", sums it up nicely.

The pair have shared stages with the likes of Wing!, Spanish Horses and SILVERWINGKILLER, and have built a buzz largely by word of mouth. They then teamed up with Strong Island Recordings for their debut single "The Idiot" (2026), produced by Tom Kellett, whose credits include Moreish Idols and Clara Mann. A tense, gothic slow-burner that builds to a noisy climax, it caught the attention of Stereogum. It also marked the band's move towards a more electronic, sample-heavy sound. Expect to dance and sulk in equal measure.
