American-born composer and multi-reed artist celebrated for pushing the expressive limits of wind instruments.
If you'd like to be the first to know when new events are announced, you can follow Colin Stetson below.
Colin Stetson makes his saxophones sing, roar and whisper all at once — transforming reed instruments into singular, immersive soundscapes. His mastery of circular breathing, multiphonics, vocalisations through the horn and percussive key work blurs the boundary between solo performer and one-man ensemble. Raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and now based in Montréal, he has carved a place at the edge of jazz, experimental and compositional music, bringing visceral physicality and emotional depth to every performance.
Among his defining works are New History Warfare Vol. 1 (2008), New History Warfare Vol. 3: To See More Light (2013) — recorded live with no overdubs or loops — and All This I Do for Glory (2017), where he shapes narrative tension through breath and tone. He has collaborated with artists such as Bon Iver (including Never Were the Way She Was) and contributed to film and TV scores (like Hereditary) with the same uncompromising attention to sonic texture. His live shows often unfold in darkness, letting sound speak before gesture, and invite listeners into a heightened space of listening and presence.
Ticket prices may vary depending on venue and location. Full pricing details are available on each individual event page.
