Glasgow trio bis have spent more than 30 years making indie-pop, punk and electronic music on their own terms.
Formed in Glasgow in 1994, bis emerged as one of the most unconventional British bands of the era, mixing indie-pop, punk and electronic music with sharp political themes and a DIY approach. While still in their teens, they gained international attention with singles including "Kandy Pop" and "Eurodisco", toured with artists ranging from Foo Fighters and Bikini Kill to Pavement and The Cardigans, and even wrote the original theme for The Powerpuff Girls.
After releasing three studio albums, bis went on hiatus in 2003 before returning with Slight Disconnects (2019) and Systems Music for Home Defence (2022). More than 30 years after they formed, the Glasgow trio continue to write new music while celebrating a catalogue that has influenced generations of indie and alternative artists.
