Alexander Robotnick is the long-standing alias of Italian electronic pioneer Maurizio Dami, a key figure in the development of Italo disco, electro and underground dance music. Emerging from Florence in the early 1980s, Robotnick helped define a darker, more experimental edge to electronic club culture, blending mechanical rhythms with hypnotic synth lines and a distinctly futuristic sensibility. He is best known for the seminal track “Problèmes d’Amour” (1983), a release that has become a cornerstone of electronic music history and remains a staple in DJ sets decades on.
