Sylosis are a British metal band from Reading known for their powerful blend of thrash metal, melodic death metal and modern heavy metal influences. Formed in 2000, the band has built a reputation for intricate guitar work, intense songwriting and technically precise performances, led by guitarist and vocalist Josh Middleton.
Across albums including Conclusion of an Age (2008), Edge of the Earth (2011), Monolith (2012), Dormant Heart (2015), Cycle of Suffering (2020) and A Sign of Things to Come (2023), Sylosis have developed a sound that balances crushing heaviness with melodic depth and progressive elements. Renowned for their relentless live shows and musicianship, the Berkshire quartet continue to stand as one of the UK’s most respected modern metal acts.
