Yard Act are a Leeds-based post-punk band known for their sharp social commentary, spoken-word delivery and danceable indie grooves. Formed in 2019, the group quickly gained attention through early singles including “The Overload”, which introduced their witty, observational songwriting and angular sound. Their debut album The Overload (2022) became a critical and commercial success, reaching number two in the UK Albums Chart and establishing the band as one of the leading voices in modern British guitar music.
Renowned for their energetic and charismatic live performances, Yard Act have toured extensively across the UK and internationally, including appearances at major festivals such as Glastonbury and Reading & Leeds. Their follow-up album Where’s My Utopia? (2024) saw the band expand their sound further, blending elements of disco, funk and electronic music into their post-punk foundations. With their mix of humour, satire and infectious rhythms, Yard Act continue to stand out as one of the UK’s most exciting contemporary bands.
