VOKA GENTLE are a London-based folk and experimental trio whose inventive approach to songwriting blends rich harmonies, acoustic textures and bursts of electronic and art-pop exploration. Signed to Yucatan Records, the group comprises twins Imogen Mason and Ellie Mason alongside William J. Stokes — three musicians whose shared creativity and genre-blurring instincts have earned them growing acclaim within the UK’s alternative scene. Their sound fuses traditional folk sensibilities with adventurous production, weaving intricate melodies through surreal, layered arrangements that defy easy categorisation.
Their debut album Start Clanging Cymbals (2019) introduced VOKA GENTLE’s unique world — a dreamlike collection of songs that balanced intimacy with experimentation. Its follow-up, WRITHING! (2021), pushed their sound further, exploring themes of identity, transformation and vulnerability through dense harmonies and fearless musical invention. Known for their dynamic live performances and bold visual style, the trio continue to carve a distinct space where folk, art-rock and electronic elements intertwine.
