Tom Rowley is a British musician, songwriter and producer best known as a founding member of electronic indie trio Friendly Fires. As a multi-instrumentalist, Rowley plays a central role in shaping the band’s vibrant, dance-driven sound, blending indie rock, electronic textures and pop hooks into songs built for both club floors and festival stages. His musicianship is marked by rhythmic precision, melodic flair and a keen ear for atmosphere, helping Friendly Fires carve out a distinctive space within UK alternative music.
Alongside frontman Ed Macfarlane and drummer Jack Savidge, Rowley has contributed to albums including Friendly Fires (2008), Pala (2011) and Inflorescent (2019), each expanding the band’s sound while retaining their euphoric core. Beyond Friendly Fires, he has also worked as a producer and collaborator, applying his genre-spanning sensibilities to a wide range of projects.
