The Wurzels, Electric Palace, Bridport - 20th April 2019

The wurzels were great. We travelled nearly 200 miles to watch them and it was well worth it. Would definitely watch them again. Great night and absolutely brilliant show

The Wurzels - Annual West Country Christmas Party!, The Blake Hall, Bridgwater - 22nd December 2018

Saw The Wurzels last night for the first time and would definitely see them again. They played a good mix of songs and the audience participation was really good. My only complaint is that it didn't go on long enough !

The Wurzels - Annual West Country Christmas Party, Islington Assembly Hall, London - 14th December 2017

Great performance from the band, good to see so many younger people. A 'proper job' start to Xmas.
Some proper cider at the bar would have been nice,

The Wurzels - Annual West Country Christmas Party, Islington Assembly Hall, London - 14th December 2017

The Wurzels moved to a better venue this year for their annual Christmas party in that there London. They play all their hits for a great singalong evening and have taken over Ruby, Ruby, Ruby, Ruby as their theme song. Sorry, Kaiser Chiefs. Ohh arr, ohh, arr, ooh arr. There's not many old gaffers like me there, The Wurzels picked up a new, younger demographic when they played Glastonbury but I was still bouncing around to their House mix of Combined Harvester. I'm also a big fan of their support band, The Skimmity Hitchers who are a New Wave Scrumpy and Western band with their own anthems that deserve a wider audience. Viva Lyme Regis! My only niggle is the generic ciders served at the bars, this audience know what real cider tastes like. We should show off our excellent Kent ciders, how about a barrel of Biddenden's Bushells next time? Apart from that, a great evening that I thoroughly recommend to everyone.

Artist Bio

Everyone loves The Wurzels. With their fantastic folk songs about country life down on the farm, the troubles of driving tractors and the joys of rabbit stew. The band includes long serving member Tommy Banner playing accordion or piano, banjo player Pete Budd, drummer John Morgan AKA Amos, Louie ‘Gribble’ Nicastro playing keys and Sedge Moore on bass.

First shooting to fame after BBC Radio 1 DJ Noel Edmonds championed their single “The Combine Harvester”. With the prominent airplay the single shot to Number #1 in the UK Singles Chart making them overnight celebrity sensations. Their follow up single I Am A Cider Drinker sold over 250,000 copies and saw the band land #3 in the charts.

Their incredible LP back catalogue includes such incredible titles as The Wurzels Are Scrumptious, Golden Delicious, Top Of The Crops and Never Mind The Bullocks, Ere’s The Wurzels.

The hardworking band have continued to star on stage and screen, boasting a massive back catalogue of hits and regularly asked to make TV appearances such as on hit BBC show Never Mind The Buzzcocks.

Much loved Scrumpy And Western winners The Wurzels are heading to a stage near you!

OOH arr! Ooh arr! This was a barnstorming performance from those legends of Scrumpy and Western music. And that’s barn-storming literally, as in a place a farmer might keep his cows, because it was the night the countryside came to Cardiff. The rustic ravers whipped up a hoedown atmosphere as their fans, many of whom had entered the spirit of things by dressing up in straw hats, red kerchiefs and checked shirts, sank a cider or three and bopped along. ” - Wales Online
