Bristol four-piece delivering intense, riff-driven post-punk with melodic bite and raw emotional force.
The New Cut are a post-punk / alternative rock band from Bristol, UK, made up of Henry (vocals / guitar), Flick Case (vocals / guitar), Rachel Parr (bass / vocals) and Morgan (drums). They met at university and bonded over shared influences like Black Country, New Road, Do Nothing and Wire, crafting music that rides the edge of urgency and melody. Their sound is riff-based and raw, with shouty harmonies and a restless spirit that reflects both their personal experiences and the weight of a changing world.
In April 2023 they released their Merrywood EP, a debut collection that includes tracks like “The Family Business,” “Reclamation,” “Steven Gerrard Is My Dad” and “Train of Thought.” They’ve already shared stages with legends like Buzzcocks and are confirmed for festivals including The Great Escape and Dot to Dot, building momentum with fans thanks to their electric live shows and compelling lyrics.
