British indie-rock band celebrated for their emotive instrumentation, heartfelt energy and rising presence in the alternative scene.
TEZ are an indie-rock band from Margate, UK, comprised of Owen Mellett (vocals/guitar), Joe Martin (drums) and Dan Hughes (guitar). Their sound is marked by driving rhythms, aqueous instrumentation and a kinetic blend of neo-psychedelia and ambient indie rock — drawing on influences like Foals, Palace and Two-Door-Cinema-Club.
Since their formation, TEZ have emerged from a bedroom-project to stage-ready performers: their EPs The New Era and Gloria Runs The Shop (produced by Ian Flynn) were supported by crowdfunding campaigns and have laid the groundwork for headline shows and a touring presence across the UK and EU. Alongside their musical progression, they’ve used their platform to engage with mental-health issues and peer pressure among young people, adding a meaningful dimension to their work.
