A boundary-defying composer-songwriter weaving cinematic intimacy into modern folk and ambient pop.
Tessa Rose Jackson is a Dutch-British composer, singer, songwriter and visual artist whose work blurs the boundaries between intimate folk, ambient pop and cinematic sound. Based between London and Amsterdam, she spent six years creating music under the moniker Someone, before returning to release under her own name in 2024. Her 2023 album Owls showcases her silky, hypnotic vocals, gentle beats and shimmering production — a record that earned her praise for its emotional depth and dreamlike textures.
Her music is inherently visual. Tessa has composed for film and television — credits include The Snowman (De Sneeuwman), Silver Bird, Rainbow Fish and The Phantom Carriage — which reflect her gift for crafting atmospheres that evoke memory, yearning and tension. In live settings, she engages audiences with her honesty and subtle emotional power; her performances have been described as evocative and entrancing. Underlying all her work is a desire to connect: to tell stories, explore identity, and express the unseen spaces between thought and feeling.
