Tarja Turunen is a Finnish soprano, composer and songwriter who first rose to prominence as the original lead singer of Nightwish. From her early classical roots and metal beginnings, she has released solo rock albums such as My Winter Storm (2007), What Lies Beneath (2010), Colours in the Dark (2013), The Shadow Self (2016) and In the Raw (2019). Her recent work includes Outlanders (2023), a project mixing rock and electronic influences; the live recording Circus Life; and the compilation Best of: Living the Dream (2022).
Tarja has performed extensively across the UK, Europe and beyond, headlining shows and festivals while exploring crossover paths between classical music, metal, orchestral rock and seasonal repertoire. Whether delivering symphonic power, haunting vocals or cinematic ambience, her live show remains immersive and emotionally charged.
