New wave icons Squeeze rose in the 70s and 80s, releasing huge Top 10 hit singles "Cool for Cats", "Up the Junction", and "Labelled with Love". Their major record releases include Gold-certified albums Cool for Cats (1979) and Argybargy (1980), plus the silver-selling East Side Story (1981) and Babylon and On (1987).
The group is led by founding members Glenn Tilbrook (lead guitar, keys, vocals) and Chris Difford (rhythm guitar, vocals). Further members are Stephen Large (keys, backing vocals), Simon Hanson (drums, percussion, backing vocals), Steve Smith (percussion, rhythm guitar, vocals), Melvin Duffy (pedal and lap steel guitars, dulcimer) and Owen Biddle (bass, backing vocals).
