Sleaford Mods are an English post-punk duo formed in Nottingham, fronted by vocalist Jason Williamson and producer Andrew Fearn. Their music fuses minimalist beats with raw, spoken-word vocals that confront themes of austerity, class and modern British life. Early albums such as Austerity Dogs (2013) and Divide and Exit (2014) established their reputation for sharp, uncompromising social commentary. Tracks like “Jobseeker”, “Tied Up in Nottz” and “Jolly Fucker” cut through with stark honesty and biting humour.
They have since built a loyal following with acclaimed releases including Key Markets (2015), English Tapas (2017), Eton Alive (2019), Spare Ribs (2021) and UK Grim (2023). Their live shows are equally uncompromising, combining Fearn’s stripped-back production with Williamson’s intense, confrontational delivery. Regulars on the UK and European festival circuits, including Glastonbury, Green Man and Primavera Sound, Sleaford Mods have become one of the most distinctive and vital voices in contemporary British music.
