Sanguisugabogg crashed out of Columbus, Ohio, in 2019 and wasted no time making a mess of the death metal underground. Their name – half Latin for “leech”, half British slang for “toilet” – perfectly sums up their filthy, tongue-in-cheek approach. The demo Pornographic Seizures kicked things off, followed by Tortured Whole (2021) and Homicidal Ecstasy (2023), both packed with skull-crushing riffs, groove-laden breakdowns and a wicked sense of humour.
Live, Sanguisugabogg are chaos incarnate. They’ve torn through festivals across Europe and the US, toured with heavyweights like Cannibal Corpse and Terror, and built a reputation for turning every set into a blood-soaked party. Now they’re back with Hideous Aftermath (2025), produced by Kurt Ballou and featuring members of Full of Hell, Nails and Cattle Decapitation. Brutal, unrelenting and utterly outrageous, Sanguisugabogg are one of extreme metal’s most gleefully grotesque forces.
