RY X is the ethereal musical world of Ry Cuming, the Australian singer-songwriter and producer who has spent the past decade turning quiet, deeply felt songs into something close to sacred. Born on Woodford Island and now based in California, he sings in a hushed, androgynous tenor, weaving fingerpicked guitar and sweeping arrangements into music that feels intimate and expansive all at once. Across albums including Dawn (2016), Unfurl (2019) and Blood Moon (2022), he has built a reputation as one of the most affecting voices in modern indie folk.
A GRAMMY-nominated artist, RY X is also part of the electronic projects The Acid and Howling, and has performed alongside orchestras such as the London Contemporary Orchestra. His live shows travel by word of mouth, from grand cathedrals and concert halls to festival stages, where his fragile, captivating voice fills the room and holds a crowd in complete stillness.
