With his warm, reflective songwriting and unmistakable voice, Roo Panes has quietly become one of the UK’s most compelling folk artists. Blending poetic lyricism with sweeping instrumentation, his music is both deeply personal and universally resonant.
Since the release of his debut album Little Giant (2014), Roo has continued to craft songs that feel timeless, earning comparisons to Nick Drake and Ben Howard. Albums like Paperweights (2016) and Quiet Man (2018) showcase his ability to pair delicate melodies with profound storytelling, while his stripped-back Nightjar and the Nightingale (2022) further highlights his talent for introspection and intimacy.
Beyond the studio, Roo’s live performances are a captivating experience—his rich, emotive vocals and intricate guitar work drawing audiences into his world. With millions of streams and a devoted following, he continues to carve out a space where folk tradition meets modern sensibility, creating music that lingers long after the final note.
