The music of Red Fang is not restricted by any on particular genre but are largely centred around heavy metal, taking on board other rock influences such as stoner metal.

The band is made up of drummer John Sherman, lead guitarist David Sullivan, guitar and vocalist Bryan Giles and fellow vocalist Aaron Beam on bass.

Starting out in Portland, Oregon, in 2005, the band had been working under the title Party Time until they recruited Beam.

Their first album was self-titled, named Red Fang, and released in 2009 on Sargent House Records and includes the songs Prehistoric Dog, Humans Remain Human Remains and Night Destroyer. With massively heavy laden bass riffs and interesting time signatures the band attracted interest from fans of doom rock while the faster elements of the record appealed to punk rock fans. With influences also included prog rock the album proved to have a wide range of appeal.

They released their second album Murder The Mountains through Relapse Records in 2011. The album includes the mega song Number Thirteen which was selected to be used in the hit video game Rocksmith. The game allows players to plug in their real life guitars into their games console to actually play along to the song. Other outstanding tracks include Wires, Malverde and The Undertow.

Whales And Leeches was Red Fang’s third offering and also came out though Relapse Records in 2013. With bone crushing riffs featured on songs 1516, DOEN, No Hope and Dawn Rising, the record also appealed to the doom fan.

Red Fang tickets will go on sale Friday 3rd of June at 10:00.

See them play with ace American metal band Torche and the mighty God Damn as support at Academy 2 in Manchester on Friday 30th September. Torche will support them again when they play at Engine Rooms in Southampton on Wednesday 5th of September.
