Formed in Austin, Texas in 2017, Portrayal of Guilt have carved out a singular space at the intersection of screamo, black metal, hardcore and noise. The trio have built a formidable reputation for unrelenting intensity, pairing blast beats, crushing riffs and searing vocals with an atmosphere of dread that is as cinematic as it is visceral.
Across acclaimed releases including Let Pain Be Your Guide (2018), We Are Always Alone (2021), Devil Music, Christfucker (2024) and ...Beginning of the End (2026), the band have explored themes of mortality, guilt and spiritual decay while continually expanding their sonic palette with industrial textures, harsh electronics and haunting ambience.
