Ola Englund is a Swedish guitarist, songwriter and producer who has become one of the most recognisable names in modern metal. Born in Stockholm, he plays lead guitar in melodic death metal favourites The Haunted, founded the band Feared as its lead guitarist and main songwriter, and spent a spell in American death metal outfit Six Feet Under, appearing on their 2013 album Unborn. Away from his bands, he has built a hugely popular YouTube channel whose gear demos, honest reviews and easy humour have earned him a global following and a reputation as one of the best online guitar personalities around.
In 2017 he launched Solar Guitars, a fast-growing brand built for modern rock and metal players, while his solo records show off a more cinematic, instrumental side on Master of the Universe (2019) and Starzinger (2021). His standing among the genre's elite was underlined when he was shortlisted as a potential guitarist for the Pantera reunion. Expect riff-driven, technically sharp playing from a musician who has spent years bringing metal, and its community, to life.
