Since releasing her debut single Sober Feels in 2020, the Leeds-born artist has become a defining figure in jungle’s revival, blending breakbeats with vulnerability, R&B influences and a distinctly personal perspective. Raised on gospel, pirate radio and everything from jungle to soul, Nia began experimenting with production as a teenager and has since pushed the genre into new territory.
Her 2024 debut album Silence Is Loud became the first jungle album in 20 years to receive a Mercury Prize nomination. She has since made history with three BRIT Award nominations, founded her own label Up Your Archives, and championed greater recognition for electronic music at the MOBOs.
2026's Emotional Junglist takes her sound further, exploring love, lust, heartbreak, sexuality and womanhood through a mix of jungle, electronica, indie pop and punk. Featuring collaborators including Sampha and Jorja Smith, the album reflects Nia’s evolution from bedroom producer and DJ to a fully realised performer and one of the most exciting voices in contemporary British dance music.
